The celebration of a World Championship is always exciting news for Spanish handball, since fortunately, the Technical work we do in the younger age categories allows us to face the competition with all the faith put in our National Teams.

But when this event takes place in your country and you take on an organizational challenge of this magnitude, it generates a double satisfaction, as well as the responsibility of giving value to the Spanish brand before the eyes of the world.

The City Halls of Vigo and Pontevedra, together with the Regional Government of Pontevedra and the Galician Handball Federation are the actors that wanted to form this project, a symbiosis that guarantees the dedication, the passion and the professionalism for all participants and fans that are going to meet for this great occasion.

This 2019 Men’s Junior World Championship gives the chance to enjoy those who form the natural replacement of the continental senior National Teams in the mid term, and is one more step of the ambitious project of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation to demonstrate the standards that we demand ourselves in terms of organization quality, shown in all competitions and activities, both “indoor” and beach, that we have managed directly over the last few years.

In addition, this year 2019 will mark the 30th anniversary of the first Men's Junior World Championship organized in our country, on which Spain achieved the silver medal, the Soviet Union being champion. This will serve to re-edit the atmosphere that Galicia (also host back then) offered all of those involved back in 1989.

All this will be complemented by a multitude of satellite activities with which to promote the World Championship. First level Ambassadors, sportsmen, and especially young people, many young people to whom we are going to offer a great party with which to enjoy our sport to the maximum.

I take this opportunity to congratulate all the participating countries for having achieved their qualification for the World Championship; also, I would like to thank the City Halls of Vigo and Pontevedra, as well as the Regional Government of Pontevedra for their commitment and support in the organization; the Galician Federation for its strong approach in promoting handball, and of course the Superior Council of Sports that guarantees our strict management; all of them great architects who are the best guardian to ensure that our sport continues its qualitative progression.

It only remains for me to wish good luck to players, technical staff, referees and delegates in the competition, and at the same time, to show you, as President of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation, our total acknowledgement for the great work done.
